A federal judge ruled that warrantless surveillance is unconstitutional. But the administration has a defense.
The government argued that the program is well within the president's authority, but said proving that would require revealing state secrets.Joseph Heller, somewhere, is smirking.
I don't know what inspires this administration but let's hope.

This ruling seems fairly broad as it claims Constitutional violations and not just the violation of federal statutes. Maybe this will inspire the Bush Admin. to sit down with Comgress and write new law to cover this this sort of thing.
