A Big Fat Slob

It's paradignmatic of the way BushCo operates -- they don't want to know the facts, they want to create them. Two other reports in today's news reveal the same heavy handed tactic -- after the NASA scientist banged the drum on global warming and complained that BushCo was muzzling him, the Administration rewrote NASA's mission statement to remove any reference to studying and protecting the planet, which was the basis for the NASA global warming work. In the second, they fired a woman and removed her top secret clearance after she commented on a top-secret blog that waterboarding -- a "technique" used in Guantanemo, was torture and that torture was wrong. The intelligence services began the blogs a year or so ago to encourage discussion and sharing of information amongst the top-secret elite. Apparently, they missed the point of blogs being free-wheeling and open.
